The Wake Forest Loop (WFL) -- a GoRaleigh operated route for residents traveling within Wake Forest and a portion of Wakefield-- will welcome the New Year with an additional bus to run a reverse route and new Saturday services.
With the changes, the WFL will operate six days a week, enabling riders to travel both clockwise and counter-clockwise along the existing route. Wait time will be cut in half from 60 to 30 minutes. The WFL previously comprised of one bus running the hour-long route Monday-Friday in a clockwise direction.
These changes, coupled with enhancements introduced in October 2019, were designed to make public transportation more accessible to larger numbers of Wake County residents as a result of the Wake County Transit Plan sales tax.
The Wake Forest Bus Service has included the WFL and the Wake Forest-Raleigh Express, a weekday rush-hour express to Triangle Town Center and Downtown Raleigh. Since 2008, through coordination with the Town of Wake Forest, GoTriangle, GoRaleigh and the City of Raleigh, both the WFL and all express routes are operated using GoRaleigh vehicles.
As an alternative to driving to and from work, riding the bus offers many advantages including flexible schedules, low cost, reduced wear on your vehicle, the opportunity to get work done during your commute and just relax, while reducing emissions.
GoRaleigh is the City’s public transit bus service for all residents. GoRaleigh operates 84 buses, serving approximately 17,000 passengers per day and covers a territory of 144 square miles.
