Riding with Children
GoRaleigh makes it easier for families to get around Raleigh together. Whether you're traveling with young children, bringing a stroller or helping a teenager travel independently, here are a few things to know before you ride.
Riding with Strollers
GoRaleigh allows unfolded strollers that are 26 inches wide or less when a child is secured in the stroller. Strollers less than 22 inches wide are strongly encouraged.
While onboard, strollers should be placed in the designated ADA seating area on the driver's side of the bus without blocking the aisle or emergency exits. Stroller wheels must be locked, and parents or guardians must maintain control of their stroller and children at all times.
Because accessible seating is prioritized for passengers with disabilities, riders may be asked to fold and store their stroller if the ADA area is needed. Strollers without children, stroller wagons and strollers wider than 26 inches must be folded and stored while onboard. When exiting the bus, strollers should be backed off the bus for a safer exit.

Fares for Children and Youth
Children 12 and Younger
Ride free with an adult.
Children age 12 and younger can ride GoRaleigh at no charge when traveling with an adult.
Youth Ages 13–18
Ride free with a Youth GoPass.
Give your teen the freedom to get to school, work, activities and more without needing a ride or gas money.
With parent or guardian consent, youth ages 13–18 can sign up for a Youth GoPass and ride GoRaleigh and GoTriangle buses for free.
With a Youth GoPass, young riders can:
- Ride free all year long
- Get to school, jobs, volunteer opportunities and activities
- Explore their community independently
- Save money on gas and parking
