GoRaleigh is launching its newest travel experience – the new Downtown Raleigh R-Line route. The new route will serve major destinations including the Convention Center, GoRaleigh Station, Raleigh Crossing, Raleigh Union Station, Red Hat Amphitheater, Seaboard Station, Shaw University, Smoky Hollow and the State Capitol Building, to name a few.

The new bi-directional route will also be more convenient for riders to get to and from their destinations. The route will be served by GoRaleigh 29-foot compressed natural gas buses, releasing near zero emissions.

The new R-Line route will begin daily service on May 24, 2020.

Since September 2018, the Raleigh Transit Authority and staff from the Department of Transportation, Transit Division have engaged stakeholders and the public in a revision process for the R-Line route. This process assessed the changing downtown landscape and the options that best serve downtown.
