October 12, 2025 Service Changes

GoRaleigh will implement service changes effective October 12, 2025. Funding through the Wake Transit half-cent sales tax allows GoRaleigh to continue growth in one of the Four Big Moves from the Wake Transit Plan, increasing our frequent, reliable urban network. 

Along with platform changes at GoRaleigh Station, he following routes will experience service changes beginning on October 12, 2025.

GoRaleigh Station Platform Changes

Starting October 12, GoRaleigh Station will have updated platform assignments to make your ride smoother and more reliable. Please take a moment to review the new assignments below so you’ll know exactly where to catch your bus.

Updated Platform Assignments


Route 1 | Increase to 10 Minute Frequency

Route 1 Capital will increase frequency to every 10 minutes! In the early morning and late evening on weekdays frequency will be 20 minutes. Weekend frequency will be every 15 minutes during the day, and every 30 minutes in the early morning and late evening, both days. Additionally, three stops on Route 1 will be removed.

Route 7 | 15 Minute Frequency Extended into the Evening and on Weekends

Route 7 South Saunders will have 15-minute frequency later into the evening, as well as on weekends. Early morning and late evening service every day of the week will have 30-minute frequency.

Route 15 | 15 Minute Frequency Extended into the Evening and on Weekends

Route 15 WakeMed will have 15-minute frequency later into the evening, as well as on weekends. Early morning and late evening service every day of the week will have 30-minute frequency. Additionally, a small alignment change will be made.

June 15, 2025 Service Changes

GoRaleigh will increase services June 15. Funding through the Wake Transit half-cent sales tax allows GoRaleigh to continue growth in one of the Four Big Moves from the Wake Transit Plan, increasing our frequent, reliable urban network.

Route 18 - Split | Major Change

Route 18 Poole/Barwell is being split up. Route 18 Poole will run every 30 minutes in the daytime. The 18L Barwell/New Hope will maintain hourly service from Bus Way to Battle Bridge shopping center, and add a new leg up to the New Hope Shopping Center, due to a request from the Raleigh Transit Authority.

Route 4 - Alignment Change – Major
Route 26 – Retired – Major
Route 27 – Alignment Change

Route 26 Edwards Mill Road is being retired. Routes 27L Blue Ridge and 4 Rex Hospital are being realigned to cover parts of that route with ridership or destinations. Route 4 will now end at Crabtree Valley Mall. Route 27L will now serve the Trinity Rd corridor and terminate at the new Plaza West transfer point.

Route 3 - Realignment | Major Change

Route 3 Glascock is being extended to Brentwood Rd and realigned to remove single direction service through the neighborhoods surrounding Raleigh Blvd. The new route path will be bidirectional via Raleigh Blvd. Service frequency will increase to 30 minutes all day.

Route 11L - Truncated and Service Increase | Major Change

Route 11L Buck Jones is being truncated at Avent Ferry and Brigadoon, instead of going all the way to NCSU, so that its frequency can increase to every 45 minutes. It connects to our high frequency Route 11 Avent Ferry.

Route 7L -  Service Increase | Major Change

Route 7L Carolina Pines will have a frequency increase to 30 minutes all day. A small route realignment will increase the route’s performance by straightening out the route path. All effected stops will still be within the new route path’s walkshed.

Route 12 -  Extension

Route 12 Method  path will extend south to serve Avent Ferry Rd., providing better connections to the 11, 11L and Wolfline service. All stops effected by this route deviation will be within the walkshed of the new route alignment. One additional trip will be added at night to increase the route’s service span.

Route 2 -  Extension

Route 2 Falls of Neuse northern terminus will be moved out of the shopping center and extended to Lafayette Village.

Route 19 -  Terminus Change

Route 19 MLK/Sunnybrook eastern terminus has changed to Sunnybrook Rd. at New Bern Ave. Service has been removed from Calumet Dr. due to the street being a private street.

Route 15L -  Noblin Rd. Now Served by Route 3

Route 15L Trawick Connector deviation to Noblin Rd. will be removed, Route 3 Glascock will now serve this destination.

Route 6 -  Added Half Trip

Route 6 Glenwood has an added inbound half trip in the early morning.

FRX -  Wake Tech Stop

The FRX will stop at Wake Tech on all trips.

Route 36 -  Renamed to 36L

Route 36 Creedmoor will be renamed to Route 36L Creedmoor. After June 15 all routes not serving GoRaleigh Station will be denoted with an “L” for Link.

Route 11 - 15-Minute Frequency

Route 11 - Avent Ferry will become a 15-minute frequency route with no alignment changes. As a frequent service, it no longer has timed transfers with the 11L.

Route 33 - Name Change, Weekend Service and Route Realignment

The 33 will now be the 33L and will feature weekend service. On weekdays the route will run to the new Wake Tech campus. On weekends the route will end at Knightdale Station Park, but turn around differently than it does now.

R-Line 

Changes for the R-Line include going North on Harrington Street and turning left onto Edenton Street, instead of Hillsborough Street.
